This is an open call to build an International Community for Freedom of Choice in Learning

Ελληνικά

The movement to secure the right to choice in learning is still weak in terms of state and transnational coordination. Unity and Consistency is required.

We are gathering and mobilising

groups, organisations, projects, families and individuals who want the right to choose in learning either through:

  • the right to full pedagogical autonomy

  • the right to pedagogical autonomy as a way to create/institutionalise learning communities

  • worldschooling

  • the creation of formal and informal learning structures

  • substantial reform in the public sector

We are designing a transnational legal alliance

to represent a transnational community.

  • we are developing a legal strategy of association while maintaining the autonomy of the individual ventures towards the creation of an Interstate Union, a critical mass of citizens capable of bringing about social, political and legislative reform securing the right to choice in learning for all.

  • giving communities a legal form is part of the legal strategy. We are doing so for local communities. A transnational community with a legal form is needed.

We are creating an International Free to Learn Register

of individuals & organisations towards the joint/collective execution of the necessary mobilizations/actions. Your subscription here is also a subscription to the Register. We are calling for its co-development.

We are writing an International Appeal for the redefinition of education

and are calling for its co-development.

We are building a digital home for Free to Learn.

We are practicing the freedom of choice in learning.

We are meeting regularly

to collaborate and coordinate for meaningful action.

Our experience so far has shown us that to succeed it is necessary, collectively:

  • for adults and minors to represent the movement together rather than adults representing minors

  • to succeed beyond economic-social borders

  • to practice whatever is a recognised human right and legal NOW

    • to make the right known, respected and normal THROUGH its practice

  • to have a common line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the EU’s proposals and with all the international agreements each country has already signed

    • the study for this has been completed

  • to systematically report violations within both Education and Welfare jurisdictions

  • to create the capital to make this field of work sustainable and for the legal actions necessary

In short, in order to succeed, we need to allow nothing to separate us and to coordinate for educational autonomy with the practice of everything that should be legal and public. At the same time.
The idea that the former should be done first and then the latter has not worked.

If you wish to be an active member of the community please sign up.

We have been running hybrid monthly coordination circles which will now merge with larger community gatherings.
More on future meetings soon.
