Dear people,
I am Zoë Valerie, one of the founders and administrators of Free to Learn and other related ventures.
Until recently we were a team of administrators. Smaller than a community like this needs but a team.
I have been alone for a while now.
One administrator is not enough.
There are many others alone. All over the world. Trying, alone, for us to be together.
Free to Learn has been an open call to build an International Community for Freedom of Choice in Learning since 2018.
With specific proposals for creating a register, a digital home, collaborative administration & promotion, a transnational legal form, an international appeal, common meetings and more.
Unity and consistency has not yet been achieved.
You are invited to a Q&A meeting:
“Is Free to Learn a suitable home for a Global Alliance?”
Tuesday 13-6-23 , 6-8 pm UK Time
Please study the Free to Learn Substack before the meeting. Don’t miss the History of Free to Learn!
I look forward to meeting you there,
Zoë
It seems to me Free to Learn is a good place to be for this global movement, but I am also aware that Je’anna Clements has set up a Discord server which also has a number of “subscribers” and information and experiences being shared. I am not attached to which platform we use, but I am interested to see us coming together on a regular basis, both in person and online, so that whatever gaps there are in the platforms we share can be bridged. The regular in-person and online meetings on Zoom would be necessary even if we had only one digital home. The reason is because there will be too much info for everyone to go through. --Dean
